Troop 86

Elizabethville PA

July 19-21, 2024
Camp Tuckedaway
Duncannon, PA

The 'troop' met at 5pm at the Elizibethvile Scoutroom, and headed to Camp Tuckedaway near Duncannon. Upon arival the scouts who attended hiked their bags to where they would be staying for the weekend. The scouts who showed up, were Damon, Jace, and Garrison. The adults were Cole, Jesse, and Andrew. The troop things were brought in by truck and the scouts set it up to their liking.  Upon  nightfall a fire was started and we had ice cream as a treat.

Saturday morning the troop cooked scrambled eggs and sausage. After dishes were done, the troop got ready to go fishing. After about two hours there was only one catch.  So we all went back to camp. For lunch we had hotdogs, not much to say about them - they were pretty subpar.  But there were carrots and onions with them.  After lunch the troop prepared to go swimming. When we arived at the pool the scouts had a contest to see who could swim to retrieve a sink toy in the fastest time, and the two losers had to do do the dishes for dinner that night.  But dinner had no dishes, because after rain killed our fun at the pool we had foil pouch meals for dinner.  After dinner had been burnt and eaten there was a non-religious-specific service presented by one of the scouts for his Communications merit badge. All who attended the religious service were treated to freezy-pops when it was over. That was the last thing we did on Saturday.

Sunday morning the scouts packed out their bags, and packed up the troop stuff. Because the truck that hauls the troop stuff out of camp hadn't arrived yet, the scouts did some clean-up work on an adirondack being built at the camp. When the truck came, the troop stuff was secured and everyone headed home.
